Heed this warning

Well, after what seemed to be the quickest summer ever, September has hit, and so has (apparently) Fall. We are so blessed to live in a beautiful place, packed to the brim with nonstop arts events, arts presenters, arts supporters, and artists! And while we’ve had a blast this summer and thank everyone who was a part of the big first ever Canada Day Night Market and Festival, and the 8th annual Gabriola Theatre Festival, we’re already looking forward to the 20th annual Gabriola Thanksgiving Studio Tour! With that crisp bite in the air, we’re getting excited for fallen leaves, hot apple cider, and artists welcoming them into their cozy homes, galleries, and studios. It’s the silver lining with the end of summer.

Warning: when you’re out and about on Gabriola, please pay careful mind to artists who may be wandering the streets, paths, beaches, grocery stores, ferries, and coffee shops with an artful, dazed look in their eye. They too need to escape the confines of their art-making worlds. Drive slow and be alert. If you should happen to graze one of these with your car or shoulder or shopping cart, please pull them off to the side of the road and call the staff & board at the Gabriola Arts Council. Thanks, in advance.
